Bainton Sings Bainton

Please join us for an evening of music in "Bainton Sings Bainton," a concert of art songs by Edgar Leslie Bainton. These songs, once lost to history, will be performed by Larisa Bainton, his second cousin's great-great-granddaughter.

Edgar Leslie Bainton (1880 - 1956) was an English composer best known for his choral works, but composed many solo voice pieces for his wife (a soprano). He spent the majority of his life in Australia where he worked as an orchestral and choral conductor at the New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Malden Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

This concert is also dedicated in part to Cate Bainton, Larisa's late aunt who was a lover of genealogy and aided in her research for this concert.

Transportation:

  • Street parking is available outside the church

  • The Oak Grove stop on the orange line is the closest stop, with about a twenty minute walk to the church.
